Barnard is seeking a project Human Resources Manager to work directly with a project team in support the implementation of the projects staff and craft resources. The position will coordinate and recruit both staff and craft resources. The work will also include the establishment of local temporary relocation, travel, and housing plans for the project. Position will report to the project manager. The position will require travel and temporary relocation to project sites.
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
· Minimum of five years of human resources experience, preferably in the construction or engineering industry.
· Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
· Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
· Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
· Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Ability to promote job opportunities and effectively represent the company culture.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
· Accurate recordkeeping and documentation skills.
· Knowledge of OFCCP and EEO compliance requirements.
· Experience working with unions and Project Labor Agreements in a construction environment.
· Lead the execution of HR initiatives aligned with project and business objectives.
· Support project-based talent acquisition efforts, including coordinating on-site interviews.
· Oversee the onboarding process to ensure completion of all required documentation and compliance.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for HR-related matters on the project site, providing guidance on policies and procedures.
· Provide coaching and support to employees and leadership on conflict resolution and performance management.
· Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend appropriate corrective actions in coordination with Corporate HR and Legal.
· Manage the workday onboarding process for new hires in the area office, ensuring timely completion and compliance.
· Ensure adherence to all applicable employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
· Collaborate with Corporate HR to implement and maintain project OFCCP requirements.
· Coordinate Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requests and tracking in partnership with Corporate HR.
